The Bodyguard

The Bodyguard is the best-selling soundtrack album of all time, selling 45 million copies worldwide. If you are in the right age group the chances are very high you attempted to sing this one in the bathroom mirror to the dismay of your family members. 

Saturday Night Fever

On January 21st, 1978 the soundtrack album 'Saturday Night Fever' started a 24 week run at No.1 on the US album charts, it went on to sell over 30 million copies world wide, making it the best selling soundtrack album of all time.

Purple Rain

Purple Rain has sold over 25 million copies worldwide making it the third best-selling soundtrack of all time. After a deluxe edition was released in 2017, Purple Rain re-entered many top-ten charts around the world including the US, UK and Austria. It debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 with 52,000 copies sold. 

Forest Gump

The Forest Gump soundtrack isn't one that immediatly pops in to mind when thinking of great music but that didn't stop it from selling over 12 million copies. 

Dirty Dancing

The soundtrack to Dirty Dancing went on to sell 32 million copies worldwide and is one of the best-selling albums of all time. In the United States the album spent 18 weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 album sales charts and went multi-platinum.

Titanic

We all know the Celine Dion hit from the movie. However, Titanic: Music from the Motion Picture became the highest-selling primarily orchestral film score in history, with worldwide sales surpassing 30 million copies.

Grease 

John Travolta made this list twice. Released in April 1978 'Grease' has sold approximately 22 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time, also ranking amongst the biggest selling soundtrack albums of all time.
