New documentary explores famed NYC record store Other Music

New documentary explores famed NYC record store Other Music

A new documentary delves into the history and cultural significance of New York City record store Other Music, which helped launch the early 2000's indie scene. The trailer features clips of performances by Vampire Weekend and Neutral Milk Hotel, amongst others, as well as appearances by Tunde Adebimpe (TV On the Radio), Jason Schwartzman, Matt Berninger (The National) and Regina Spektor. 
 In a statement, filmmakers Puloma Basu and Rob Hatch-Miller said “Our documentary is about the importance of people getting together in a physical space to share and celebrate music and all other types of art. We could not be more proud about releasing the movie in partnership with Factory 25– a company that still cares so much about the theatrical viewing experience, and about putting out physical releases of its films.”
