New U2 Album Will 'Reimagine' 40 of Their Songs

U2 have announced that their next album, Songs of Surrender, will be a 'reimagining' of 40 of their previously released songs, rather than a collection of completely new material, and will be released on March 17th.
The project follows Bono's memoir, Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story, which was released last November. In the book, he explained that the record gave him “a chance to live inside those songs again as I wrote this memoir. It also meant I could deal with something that’s been nagging me for some time. The lyrics on a few songs that I’ve always felt were never quite written. They are now. (I think.)”
The band is also reportedly working on a new album called Songs of Ascent.
