Blondie Announce New Box Set

Blondie have announced that an expansive new box set is on the way. Against The Odds: 1976 - 1982 will include remastered versions of the seminal new wave groups first six studio albums - BlondiePlastic LettersParallel LinesEat to the BeatAutoamerican, and The Hunter - as demos, alternate versions, outtakes, liner notes, track by track commentary by the band, essays, photographs and more. It is due for release on August 26th.
In a statement, singer Debbie Harry shared “It really is a treat to see how far we have come when I listen to these early attempts to capture our ideas on relatively primitive equipment. Fortunately the essence of being in a band in the early ’70s held some of the anti-social, counter culture energies of the groups that were the influencers of the ’60s. I am excited about this special collection. When I listen to these old tracks, it puts me there like I am a time traveler. As bad as it was sometimes, it was also equally as good. No regrets. More music.”
Check out an unboxing video of the Super Deluxe Edition, which will be pressed on 180g vinyl, below.
