First Look At Daniel Radcliffe As Al Yankovic

Daniel Radcliffe is set to star as “Weird Al” Yankovic in an upcoming biopic about the legendary musician, comedian, and parodist. With filming now underway, Roku has shared the first photo of Radcliffe in character.

"Weird Al" Yankovic previously said he is "absolutely thrilled" that the Harry Potter star is portraying him in the film. Roku announced Radcliffe had landed the role in a January release detailing the upcoming biopic, produced by Funny or Die and Tango.
Radcliffe stars as the five-time Grammy winner in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. With the first-look image, Radcliffe offered a statement: “Wearing the Hawaiian shirt is a huge responsibility that I don’t take lightly, and I’m honored to finally share with the world the absolutely 100 percent unassailably true story of Weird Al’s depraved and scandalous life.”

Yankovic and Eric Appel penned the screenplay, with Appel directing the film and executive producing. The feature will be available exclusively on The Roku Channel.

In 2013 Funny Or Die released a fake trailer for a biopic of the same name.
